30 days of vintage hairstyle - Day 15

Going with a bit of a hippy vibe again today, must be because I have a dress-up party coming up! I parted my hair on the other side than I normally do this time to give a different look. I parted the hair where the back section could be teased to give some body (as I have such thin hair) to the back of the hair as well. I then braided each side and pinned at the back.

30 days of vintage hairstyle - Day 13

It’s a hot and windy day so up the hair goes again! (maybe I need to do winter and summer 30 day challenges to get an even up-hair and down-hair ratio! *lol*
I continued with the middle part theme from yesterday and parted my hair in the middle right through the back so I had even sections on both sides. I took out a little of the front (the fringe) out from the front on either side. Then, taking turns on both sides I twisted the hair, and rolled, twirled and pinned at the back. I then pinned back the fringe parts on either side and pulled a little out on either side to soften the vintage hairstyle.

30 days of vintage hairstyle - Day 12

I never said the hairstyles had to be tricky *lol*, todays is the quickest and easiest hairstyle of them all!, but I still think it’s nice. I actually wore yesterday’s hair today, see below, so even after sleeping in it you could wear it the next day without much effort. It’s a little bit messier but I like the messy look. I just sprayed it with hairspray again, and smoothed and roughed it up a little. See below...

And here is the easy vintage style hair for today, a bit hippy 1970’s inspired. Just twist the hair on each side after parting in the middle and bobby pin back. Add a cute flower to the side and you have a lovely, easy, beachy “day out in the kombi van” hair look : )

30 days of vintage hairstyle - Day 3

Happy Australia Day everyone!
Its a beautiful sunny ‘bbq in the park’ kind of day today, and I actually watched ‘The Notebook’ last night so still in the 40s kinda vibe, so I thought I’d try another up do. Looks quite plain from the front, but the side looks kinda cool to me.

30 days of vintage hairstyles - Day 2

A little cooler today in Melbourne, and once I put on my handmade ‘Jack Daughters’ 1940s inspired tea dress, I could help but go with a 40’s hairstyle vibe. This is probably the simplest hairstyle you could do (and the quickest!). Just a comb on one side of the hair and a twist and pin on the other side. I didn’t take too many pics of this one, but will do some more soon of the other side.

What should we call this one? It reminds me a little of the gorgeous film “The Notebook”.

30 days of vintage hairsyles - Day 1

It’s heating up in Melbourne (better late than never), so I decided to do a pulled up vintagey/boho style as my hair is long. I pretty much make the hairstyles up according to what I am wearing and the weather, and as you will see my hair rarely looks neat, with curls and thinness. Maybe i will get better as I go along :

As you will see, the styles I do (or am starting with, are VERY simple), you would be able to copy them without instructions.

I really liked this one, it was very cool on a hot day and a little different. Especially for me who always has her hair down. Just a simple plait on the side, and because I have a fringe, I just plaited the fringe and pinned back. If you have any extra strays just pin them in. I also used hairspray to keep it all in. Its meant to be messy style so anything goes.

What do you think we should call this one?
